Friend in Music is an outreach program of the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras. We believe that every young person with outstanding musical ability and a willingness to work hard should be given the opportunity to develop that skill. The purpose of CKYO is to foster, in cooperation with public and private schools, quality musical opportunities for talented young musicians in the Central Kentucky region and provide affordable, family-friendly concerts to the community. The Friends in Music program works primarily at Lexington Traditional Magnet School and Bryan Station Middle School in order to offer free private to semi-private instrumental lessons to students in the school orchestra programs.
